<p>Profanities string together, spilling out across the telephone. The words are vulgar, loud and inescapable &#8212; with a client shouting out his anger, claiming dissatisfaction with a business, a product and&#8230; you. Your position within customer service brands you the voice of a company. It’s easy therefore for men to blame you for <em>every single problem</em>. And you blanch as further obscenities are given. They’re becoming more and more personal as the seconds spin on.</p>
<p>You decide there’s only one action to take: you <em>yell</em> at him, releasing all of your frustration for a client and his petty complaints.</p>
<p>This&#8230; is a mistake, however, and one that could cost you both your customer and your job.</p>
<p>Those within the service field often suffer verbal attacks &#8212; with their integrity, intelligence and more questioned. It’s easy to <a href="http://work911.com/articles/custservice1.htm" target="_blank">give in</a> to such attacks, to scream at consumers and demand apologies. This is counter-productive, however. Maintaining steady voices and sympathetic smiles is essential. <p>Customer service staffers represent their companies. They must therefore ensure that such representations are worthwhile.</p>

<p>In an economy that has had its up and downs, ebb and flows, diminishing companies at every turn, it is normal to have concern over the future of a company. It is known that customers are loyal to certain brands. They become familiar with a product or service, based on the name and continue using these products or services.</p>
<p>As shifts in the economy take place, businesses need to work at providing excellent customer service, since combined with brand loyalty – this will keep clients returning. Customers want to be recognized for their <a href="http://marketing.about.com/od/relationshipmarketing/a/crmtopten.htm">loyalty</a>. They want to have special programs designed for their contributions to companies. Customers want to feel good about selecting products and services from a company that welcomes and rewards them.</p>

Why? They’ve been wronged. NPS is a simple system that divides your customers into three categories, allowing you to see how your business is doing through your customer’s eyes.</p>
<p>The three categories are:</p>
<ul>
<li>Customers who promote your      business because they are happy with your services</li>
<li>Customers who are neutral but      happy</li>
<li>Customers who are      dissatisfied</li>
</ul>
<p>Dissatisfied customers can give you the best feedback on what you&#8217;re doing wrong, but all customers can help you improve your score by changing them into promoters.</p>
<p>To <a title="Calculating NPS" href="http://www.ehow.com/how_5968366_calculate-nps.html">calculate your score</a>, simply host a survey to find how who would recommend your services to their social networks on a scale of 0 to 10. The customers who answer with a score of 0-6 are detractors, with 7-8 are neutrals and with 9-10 are promoters. Take the number of promoters and subtract the detractors to get your final score.</p>
<p>Now that you know your NPS, focus on building better relations with your customers. The scores let you see just where you need to improve to please your customers and your <a href="http://kissinsights.com/tour/net_promoter_score_survey_tool">net promoter score</a> provides a starting point for turning detractors and neutrals into promoters. Offer a survey to the detractors and neutrals to find out what service your business is lacking and focus on that. If you can improve even one issue with your customers, your business will improve.</p>
<p>Happy customers become promoters. Once your customers are promoters and passing your company&#8217;s name along their social networks, your revenue will grow rapidly and as we all know&#8211;free advertising is always nice.</p>
